SMT. FOWZIA FATHIMA

Smt. Fowzia Fathima is a practicing Indian Cinematographer, Director, and a founder member of Indian Women Cinematographer’s Collective. Started career as an assistant to P.C. Sreeram, Fowzia made her debut as an independent camera person with Mitr, My Friend, directed by Revathi, along with an all-female technical crew. She is a graduate from FTII, Pune.
Gulumaal, The Escape, and Uyir are other notable films. Nadiyude Moonaam Kara (2017) is her directorial Debut film. She is an Ex-Professor /Head of Department of Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata. She has been conducting Workshops in Cinematography and filmmaking for last two decades and has international teaching experience. She has worked on national and international productions on a wide range of features, commercials, and documentaries. She has a firm aesthetic grounding in History of Art with a Masters in Art Criticism.
